Open the area to allow fresh air and don’t do anything that would cause a spark and get out of the house. Again call us immediately!!
Need to Dig?
811 DIG SAFE®
Installing a propane tank? Planning home improvements like installing fences or decks? No matter who will be doing the work, be safe and call Dig Safe® at 811. They are a non-profit group that informs utility companies of your plans. The utility companies then go out and mark your lines, Dig Safe® is the communicator, they do not mark the lines themselves.
Dig Safe® requires notification at least 48 hours before excavation on public and private property, rights of ways and easements. It’s a risk to make faulty assumptions about when to notify Dig Safe. That’s why state law requires you to notify Dig Safe for even small projects, like installing a mailbox or planting shrubs. The depth of utility lines varies and you want to be sure they are all marked out before you begin your project. It can be very costly and a safety hazard if you were to disrupt utility service to your neighborhood.
